Partnership for Learning Steps into a leadership role with Career Connect Washington

We are excited to take a leadership role with the Career Connect Washington initiative (CCW), working alongside partners from Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC), Washington STEM, and the Employment Security Department. As part of this new public-private leadership group, we are committed to supporting education-to-career pathways that equip today’s students to succeed in tomorrow’s workforce.

Career connected learning is transforming how education aligns with real-world career pathways, giving students hands-on experience while preparing for in-demand jobs. Through opportunities like job shadows, internships, apprenticeships, and more, students gain valuable skills that set them up for success.

That’s why we are excited to take a leadership role with the Career Connect Washington initiative (CCW), working alongside partners from Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC), Washington STEM, and the Employment Security Department. As part of this new public-private leadership group, we are committed to supporting education-to-career pathways that equip today’s students to succeed in tomorrow’s workforce.

This work is more important than ever, as more than 70 percent of job openings in Washington state require postsecondary education and credentials, such as degrees, apprenticeships, and industry-aligned certificates and licenses. High-quality career connected learning, intentionally integrated into education and credential pathways, provides students with relevant, hands-on experience that builds on their academic foundation, provides purpose, and motivates them to complete the credentials needed to support economic mobility and fuel their futures.
