These and other topics were including in this link was just sent to me by a friend. And no, I don't usually subscribe to the Harvard University Ed newsletter. But I might after reading this.
The newsletter has question and answer sessions with various academics, and what looks like a blog of sorts on issues (such as, can teachers really collaborate with each other).
This link is a q/a with Sharon Griffin, the associate professor of education at Clark University. She also wrote "Number Worlds" about teaching math to the youngest of students. Take a look.
