Report Card Time for Washington Education

print mail

Last week the League of Education Voters (LEV) released the 2009 Citizens’ Report Card on Washington State Education. And while some grades showed improvements since the last report card was released two years ago, the bottom line is a lot more work needs to be done. The report card shows only mediocre grades, which isn’t good. But what’s worse? Well, Washington’s ability to prepare students for college and work has declined. Now that’s alarming.

From LEV:

Nobody wants to brag about a report card like this. But the report can be used as a tool to engage educators, parents, and business leaders, and empower them to take action. It’s easy to read, answers many questions, and even includes a detailed bibliography.
