More Math, But When and How?

This is the first article, after the flurry of the Legislature, and all the focus on the WASL, that addresses a bit of the sleeping giant out there.
Three years of math. The Everett Herald piece talks about an issue we've been grappling with here, and not finding many answers that we can pin down, must less some poor student from the Class of 2008 or their parent. Okay, so HB 1906 requires three years of math. The State Board of Education is expected to make that a state requirement this year. Mathematics is expected to be discussed at their meeting this week.
Even the last-minute, taped together SB 6023 requires that students continue to take math if they fail the WASL, but if they don't have to pass the math WASL until 2013, does that mean they still have to take those extra courses?
And where are we going to get all these new math teachers to teach these extra math courses, should they be required of the Classes of 2008-2012?
