Congrats to these tech-y teachers!

Technology, techonology, techonology. Everywhere you turn it's moving and changing so fast that sometimes I can barely keep up. Lucky for many students in Washington though, there are teachers out there who have no problem riding the tech wave and making a splash in the classroom.

Last week OSPI and Qwest announced the 19 winners of the 2008 Qwest Foundation Teachers and Technology grants. The awards recognize K-12 public school teachers who create 21st century learning environments to engage students with real-world tools and real-life situations. (Hooray!) There were nine winning entries, some written by teams of two or more teachers. Each winning individual or team received $10,000.

“These teachers are inventive thinkers, effective communicators, high producers, digital literates and team players,” said Terry Bergeson, state superintendent of public instruction. “Their skills will help students thrive in an increasingly technological world.”

Good job, teachers! Keep on keepin' on. ;)
