College Bound Students Are Good For Business

 

There was much hullaballoo when Murphy Oil announced it was going to set up a $50 million fund in an El Dorado, Ark. to send all the kids that attend that particular school district, for at least four years, to college.

 

All the sudden, this small town, which had been abandoned by various industries over the years, is being eyed by developers and other industries that want to locate there, according to this Washington Post story.

 

There has been much written about college and research towns being $$ generators, but not as much about towns that all the sudden become the place to be because, wham, college graduates are going to be coming from El Dorado High.
