Yesterday, schools and districts received their WASL scores – a database, if you will, of students as of May 23 who have passed or not passed the WASL or state-approved alternative. This year, students must meet the reading and writing requirement in order to graduate.
OSPI will hold a press conference on June 3 to announce the results to the public. But who can wait that long, right? Check out the numerous articles in today’s paper about these scores:
- Wash. telling high schools which seniors failed WASL, Seattle P.I.
- Students await results of WASL, Vancouver Columbian (NOTE: both the CAA and CIA are not "new" and a certificate is not required to graduate. The certificates just indicate that a student has met standard in reading, writing and math. The distinction is noted on a student's transcript.)
- Good news, South Sound seniors: Bulk of your class passed WASL, The Olympian
- WASL status to be available soon, Bellingham Herald
