WASHINGTON STATE GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Class of 2008 Class of 2009-2012 Class of 2013 and Beyond
Meet reading and writing standards as measured by the high school WASL or a state approved alternative. Meet reading and writing standards as measured by the high school WASL or a state approved alternative. Meet reading, writing, math and science standards as measured by the high school WASL, end-of-course assessment (for math only), or a state approved alternative.
Meet the math standard as measured by the high school WASL or a state approved alternative. If a student does not pass the math WASL, he/she must re-take the math WASL and earn one math credit or a career and technical course equivalent in the 12th grade. Meet the math standard as measured by the high school WASL or a state approved alternative. If a student does not pass the math WASL, he/she must re-take the math WASL and earn two math credits or a career and technical course equivalent in the 11th or 12th grade. All students will have to meet math (2013) and science (2014) standards as measured by the high school WASL, end-of-course assessment (for math only, offered in 2013 and required in place of the WASL in 2014) or a state approved alternative.
