Create Change

You Can Make A Difference

There are many ways to get involved and help create a strong education system in Washington State. We hope you will join us in our ongoing efforts to support student success.

Parents

You are your child’s first and best teacher:

  • Learn more about the state standards and expectations for your child’s learning.
  • Talk to your child about their school day and classes. Ask them about what they want to do after high school and help them develop a plan to get there.
  • Talk to your child’s teacher. Attend parent-teacher conferences, request progress reports and ask questions.
  • Consistently stress to your child that a rigorous education matters.

Education Leaders

  • Learn more about the strategies that have helped schools make the transition from struggling to high-performing.
  • Contact the Partnership if you have a success story that we can share with other schools and districts.
  • Share the Partnership’s resources with your students, families and community members.
  • Work with the Partnership to host an education forum for your parents and community.

Teachers

  • Use the Partnership’s tools and resources to continue to stay up-to-date on school improvement practices.
  • Join our email newsletter list and send us your success stories so we can share them with others.
  • Explore becoming a national board-certified teacher. Contact the Partnership to find out how.
  • Share the Partnership’s “ready-to-use” fliers and materials with the parents in your community.

Business Leaders

Show that student achievement matters to your company:
  • Sign up for the Partnership’s email newsletter and receive periodic updates on key education issues.
  • Host a forum on education at your business or workplace. Contact the Partnership to schedule a speaker and help with marketing the event.

  • Attend a community briefing or education funders’ luncheon.
  • Make a contribution to Partnership for Learning.
